DAWN launches INR self-testing

As patient self-testing continues to grow, 4S DAWN have been working to help customers facilitate the growth in this cohort of their patient population and as a result, we are excited to announce that in collaboration with digital health specialist Inhealthcare, we are now able to support self-testing through your DAWN AC system.

As of June 2016, the service is available to all existing DAWN AC customers.

The remote monitoring service enables warfarin patients to self-test at home and electronically relay their INR result back to a nurse via either an automated phonecall or email which then automatically populates the DAWN AC patient record. The patient is dosed, the next test date is set and the fully automated service sends the warfarin dose and next test date back to the patient.

Read the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Case Study to find out how the service has improved time in therapeutic range by 20% for 70% of patients whilst reducing costs and driving efficiency.

What are the benefits of self-testing?

  • Self-testing patients increase the time they spend in therapeutic range, reducing the risk of AF related strokes*
  • The service significantly reduces appointments
  • The service helps manage clinic capacity as demand for anticoagulation increases
  • Self-testing reduces the time it takes to dose a patient by up to 90%*
