PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Dawn AC, Version 6, anticoagulation therapy management software is organised into six modules,

Three Main Modules

Three Specialist Modules

The functionality and options offered are summarised in a:- Functionality and Option matrix

Main Modules for Maintenance (Stable Dose) Patients

The main three main offerings are:

See Maintenance Module

Dawn AC Manager

This offering provides detailed record keeping of patient information, allows manually setting of anticoagulant dose, and the manual setting of the next test date on an individual basis.

It translates the dose into an user defined instruction for the patient e.g. pills per day. It has functions for following up patients who did not attend, for handling patients that are due to stop therapy, and patients tested in different laboratories.

It optionally has a powerful but easy to use report writer and letter definition facilities.

It is ideal for those who want to manually set doses and next test dates. If at a later stage they wish to use computer recommended dose and next dates they can readily upgrade

Dawn AC Practitioner

This is similar in functionality to the Manager offering except that the system has computer recommended dose and next dates for handling patients on an individual basis. The operator at anytime can override the recommended decision.

It is ideal for a small practice or organisation for a small number of patients where the patients are treated individually.

Dawn AC Enterprise

This offering is aimed at large organisations with many hundreds of patients managed by several staff possibly in different locations. Sets of INR results can be progressively entered and computer recommended dose and next dates can be calculated in one operation.

This would be ideal if the Dawn AC was interfaced to a laboratory information system.

Specialist Modules

There are three further specialist offerings

  • Dawn AC Induction

  • Dawn AC Voyager

  • Dawn AC Interfaces

Dawn AC Induction

This offering allows patients to be induced or initiated on oral anticoagulants over the first four days of therapy. On user initiation the software automatically transfers the patient to the Maintenance module when the patient has reached a satisfactory INR level.

Dawn AC Voyager

This offering allows the use of a central system for holding all patients but allows subsets of patients information to be taken out to a remote location on say a notebook computer e.g. home visit for patient management. At the end of the remote session the data is merged into the central system.

Dawn AC Interfaces

This offering allows the Dawn AC to collect sample information and the INR result information to a Laboratory Information System or other computer system. This helps eliminate transcription errors.
