How to Handle Cardioversion Patients. Patients for cardioversion tend to be on the 2 to 3 target INR range but they need to be kept on shorter appointments (1 or 2 weeks). We suggest that a new a new target range is set up called say 2.5CV with the same dose change settings but with revised interval settings. How to Avoid logging out all users when taking the 'Reset Users' option. If a user crashes out of Dawn AC for some reason and tries to login again they are prompted to 'Reset Users'. Currently the Reset Users option within Dawn AC logs out ALL users, which can be annoying in a multi-user environment. A new utility is now available to list out the users who are logged into Dawn AC at any time, and if necessary selectively reset a single user. This is available as a standalone utility or is available as part of Dawn AC Version 6.08 The interface can be configured to "walk in" patients who have an INR result even though they were not expected in the current clinic. A further configuration option prevents patients due to attend a clinic with a different code from being automatically walked into the current clinic. In previous versions with this configuration, the interface displayed a message box alerting you to any patient it was unable to walk in because they were due to attend a clinic with a different code. This proved unwieldy for sites with a large number of patients in different clinics, so the warning message has been suppressed. Some of the Improvements in Dawn AC 6.07 The Dawn AC Word Link has been improved in many areas: - The Word macros used by the Word Link are now stored in a dedicated WordLink template instead of being stored in the Normal template. This means that the Normal template does not have to be updated on each PC that uses the Word Link. -The way in which Dawn AC starts the Word program has changed so that it can be installed in different locations on different PCs. - Word Link documents can now be made to act as forms and questionnaires. You can type information into the forms and save the form's text into the patient's clinic notes in Dawn AC. - When the demographic details contain international characters (e.g. é, ø, ä, etc.) and the dosage instruction contains fractions (e.g. ½), all of the information appears correctly in a merged Word Link document. - In standard User Letters, both international characters and dosage instruction fractions appear correctly when printed and when previewed if the Default Font Name system key holds the name of a standard Windows font, such as Arial, Times New Roman or Courier New. - In addition to the many mail merge fields available in the Word Link, Patient NHS Number, Patient Episode ID and Next Test Date are three new fields that are now available. The Next Test Date field displays the Next Appointment Date or the Next Sample Date field, whichever one has been used. This avoids having to use a complicated expression to display the correct date for the next test. (These three new fields are also available in standard User Letters.) - You can now select the printer for Word Link documents in the same way as for standard User Letters. - The Skip Labels function of a Word Link document is now fully operational. Previously, using this option produced a mail merge errors document when the Word Link document was printed or previewed. - When selecting a Word document to use as a mail merge letter, long file names are now displayed in the file selection dialog. Other Dawn AC improvements: - The Dawn AC help file can now be opened from within Dawn AC on Windows NT, 2000, XP and later. - The Default Font Size system key can now be used to control the size of the font when printing and previewing User Letters. When viewing clinic notes in the Treatment Maintenance screen (i.e. the screen used to edit details of a clinic visit), the notes are now displayed in a larger box and can also be 'zoomed' to display them in a separate window.
