Holiday Time Approaches – Training for Temporary Leaders

We often see a surge in support calls during the summer months from members of customer staff tasked with standing in for the normal lead operators. To make life easier for all, we would recommend some additional training and practice on the system before the normal lead operators take their summer leave. Contact us if you need any training help.

Update - 12th Annual User Group – 22nd November 2004

We are very pleased to have the following provisional speakers

“NPSA and Safe Medication Practice”, Prof. David Cousins, National Patient Safety Agency, UK

“The Viennese Way”, Prof Herbert Watzke, Univ. of Vienna

“Practical Dose Adjustment with Dawn AC”, Dr Barbara Krevel, University Medical Centre, Ljubljana

I am still seeking speakers and I would welcome any ideas for a short 10 to 20 minute talk on the your use of Dawn AC or any related topic. The meeting is informal and practical and so please do not hesitate to tell your story. Speakers will receive a £75 reduction in the meeting fee. Please call me on 01524 761620 or let me know by email at syd@4s-dawn.com

The User Group is an excellent opportunity to network with other anticoagulation professionals to exchange views and experience.

New Dawn AC Audit and Analysis Module

The new Dawn AC Audit and Analysis module is due for release by the end of Summer this year. It will include four powerful new reports to Dawn AC:

1. An up-to-date register of all of your anticoagulation patients, including the patient name and date of birth, indication for treatment, expected duration of treatment, target INR range, dosing regime and status. You can filter the list on any combination of target INR ranges, indications (prime AC reasons), dosing regimes, clinics, GPs and patient status (active/inactive/suspended).

2. A detailed statistical breakdown of your patients, similar to the review of performance through the weeks of a patient’s treatment available as part of our Benchmarking Service. This report includes all of the statistics produced by our Benchmarking Service, but with the added flexibility of filtering the report on any combination of date range, users, patient age band and gender in addition to all of the criteria used to filter the patient register. You can also choose to exclude the first weeks of treatment (with the number of weeks to exclude set by yourself) and/or any clinic records, which have any number of specified codes entered in their comments.

3. A simpler analysis report, providing the 'main measures' from the Benchmarking Service statistics. If you find the previous report provides a more detailed breakdown that you need, yet you want the flexibility of filtering the results on any combination of over eleven criteria, this report is for you.

4. A listing of all adverse events that have occurred within a definable period. You can restrict the listing to just the events and/or the severities that you want to focus on as well as being able to filter on a particular set of patients using the same criteria as the Patient Register.

(If you need to analyse the information held for just one patient, you can select which patient to focus on for all reports apart from the Patient Register.)

The new Dawn AC Audit and Analysis module has something for everyone:

For all Dawn AC users

    - powerful but simple analysis of your Dawn AC system to help with audits and quality control

For Benchmarking subscribers

    - complements your bi-annual Benchmarking Report by drilling down into smaller groups of patients

    - check the impact of any changes to the configuration of Dawn AC without having to wait for six months

 For GPs

    - easy access to the data you need to comply with the new GP contracts
