Virus Checking Software - Dawn AC Performance A few clients have found that their virus checking software has interfered with the speed of response of Dawn AC. If you have experienced a loss of response time, please check whether your virus checking software has been recently upgraded or changed. If it has, you may find that you can improve your system response by configuring your virus checking software to avoid checking the files that are used to store the Dawn AC data.
The Dawn AC data files are constantly being read from and written to when you use Dawn AC. If virus checking software is scanning the data files each time they are used, the system speed can be adversely affected. By excluding the Dawn AC data files from the virus checking process, the system speed is likely to improve.
Because the virus checker software is probably managed by your IT department or personnel, you may need to contact them to ask them to reconfigure your software by excluding any files in the Data folder of your Dawn AC system with the following extensions : DBF, CDX, FPT. We will be happy to discuss this with your IT department if they would like more information.
Every three to four months we are making new releases of Dawn AC with enhancements to improve the safety and efficiency of anticoagulation care. Currently we anticipate version 6.09 to be available early in the New Year.
